Day 91 of 365: Easy Spray Paint Project

I’ve had this desk clock from Cost Plus World Market (that I got on clearance!) for a while now, and wanted to update it to an oil-rubbed bronze finish so that it would pop against the white built-ins in our future home’s living room. The before:

Prep! I taped over the face of the clock and the inner workings with masking tape. Cut up plastic bags are a good replacement when you don’t have any newspaper.

Materials! I googled oil-rubbed bronze spray paint before I went to home depot, and this blogger recommended the Krylon.

Spray…watch paint dry…literally. Use thin coats, and wait until the paint is not sticky to the touch between coats.

Re-assemble and enjoy! I did some touch ups around the face with a brown sharpie, layered with a black sharpie.
